A Perfect Sunday in words only

I only took one picture today, the ducks in our back yard. The rest of the day was spent being in the moment and enjoying the kids and being home on a rainy day with them. I actually welcomed the rain this time after all the hot and sticky weather we've had. We all slept in and had a good breakfast. My new layouts and paintings are on my table to admire and be happy about. The new PL photos are on the table ready for me, I love my PL album. The kids played well together and laughed together. We lost 3 of the 4 fishes they won in Friday night's carnival and thankfully none of them got to sad or cried. Sam has a soccer game out in the wind and rain and cold and had fun. I loved watching him and remembering his first rainy soccer game when he was 4 and his face lit up at us showing us how fun and thrilling it was to get wet and keep playing. The kids and I cuddled up and ate breakfast for dinner and watched the new Justin Bieber dvd we just got. We love him and his movie, made me cry all over again. Playing balloons with Sam and 300 wishes with the girls. My hubby making 4 trips to the store for me. My hubby watching the birds in the backyard. Sunday's are my favorite day and I love it when they are good ones like today was. I can't remember what good days I had growing up or if I liked a certain day of the week so it motivates me to slow down and capture these days in writing or in photos just so we have proof of our days together. I had a nice chat with Amy from Super Healthy Kids and she is so inspiring and helpful to me and gives me so many good ideas to try. I can't wait for next Sunday to come and hope it's another good one.

HAPPY RANDOM THOUGHTS AND Project Life

Thought I'd share some random happy things going on here at our house. I love sitting and thinking of these things and hoping to start printing these lists and including it in our Project Life album. The first one is making most happy today and I hope by shouting it out I don't jinx it.

1. IT HAS BEEN WARM AND SUNNY FOR A WEEK NOW!! LITTLE IF ANY RAIN ONLY WARM TEMPS AND LOTS OF SUNSHINE!! Thinking my daughter brought it home with her on her visit from Florida.
2. Sam has worn shorts to school for 5 days now and he's loving it and that makes me happy.
3. of course my oldest and son-in-law coming home is the best, the post before this tells all about it.
4. My girls have new spring time clothes for school and they look so cute, they bought skirts hooray for skirts. They usually won't wear them.
5. My sweet cousins were so good while I babysat them this week, so lucky to be close with them.
6. Did I mention it's been warm and sunny and the grass is even greener the trees are filling out, the birds are singing more, the SUN IS OUT!!
7. My hubby and kids made me a mothers day banner (see post before this one)
8.my daughter was picked to go to the track invitationals and she did good.
9. my son scored a goal in about 30 seconds after starting
10.the kids have been drawing and sketching like crazy
11. bball is going on everyday in this driveway
12. there's less then a month left of school, excited and unexcited about this one
13, Renee gets her braces in 6 more days.
14. Of course I have to say it, the sun is out, the sun is out and I'm loving the warm feeling thru the windows, even the windows are open, smell that fresh air
15. volunteering at my son's school, he has an awesome teacher
I think that about covers it for now, I try to make this short and sweet because I know we are all busy bees right now. Have a great day and for my PROJECT LIFE PICTURES THEY ARE BELOW BUT NOT YET IN MY ALBUM, WILL FINISH IT TODAY.

My Mother's Day weekend in photos

Happy Mother's Day everyone. I had a wonderful weekend with beautiful weather all weekend, what a treat for us. What made it even better was my daughter came home unannounced again to surprise us for her birthday which was May 5 and mother's day weekend. She loves to just drop in all the way from Florida and surprise the heck out of us. She is so funny and crazy. The weekend was spent playing bball and going to Sam's soccer game and having DQ bday cake for my daughter. Also what made it special was my husband and kids surising me and cleaning the house and making me a special banner just for me since I usually do it for their bdays, this time it was just for me and I LOVE LOVE it!! I hope everyone else had a wonderful Mother's Day weekend.

My new art journal pages and Project Life

I am so happy to have finally started an art journal. This has been on my list to do since January and it feels good to have finally started it. I wasn't sure how to start one so for the past couple months I've been reading some other blogs about them. There are all different kinds out there to see and to try but you should just do what makes you happy and what is fun for you. My interest seems to be going to an art journal that's for fun and trying new things for now, there is so many new things for me to learn, like gesso paint and mod podge. Soon though I'd like to start another art journal book to record my thoughts and life happenings. Then later in the year to try painting on canvas. So here are the first few pages I've started, it does require to be messy, open-minded, have fun and just play. My favorite page though is the "rain rain go away" I just did that one today. It really is how I felt today after sitting thru another gloomy rainy day.

Project Life April 24-30

Welcome to this weeks project life. I took tons of pictures this week, love it when that happens. This weekend was busy so I didn't get to get my photos printed but I will next weekend. We had a good week here at our house, I'm starting a art journal and love love this idea. I bought some books at the library for a quarter each and have started painting in them. These are old books that have been donated and I love books and words so this made me extra happy to use them. Hoping to post some of them soon, nothing fancy just me playing with paints for now. I had the kids go out on Sat. and paint/draw on a long white sheet of paper in the driveway and the wind kept flipping it up but they had fun with it. So happy to read the "Pioneer Women" book this week it was so good and I can't wait to buy the book and add this to my yearly book list. If you've thought about reading it you should, it's the sweetest love story. We finally got our first couple of tulips on Sat. and I bought some beautiful flower pinwheels for the front yard. We also mowed the yard for the first time in between all the rain we keep getting, so it may look like spring outside but don't let it fool you. We have rain, cold, wind almost everyday. Hoping since we are skipping spring that we will finally get a summer weather. The weather people here say it's officially on the record as April being the most rain we've ever had since way back before my parents were born, that is too much rain for me.
