New art...... TREES from the Lorax movie

Here is my newest favorite thing to draw, trees from the LORAX movie!! They were like big fluffy cotton candy balls on top of the trees. All these bright colors were everywhere and the movie is based on having real trees not platic ones in their town. I just loved the whimical feeling they had and have never made a whimiscal tree before. So this is what I made as soon as we were home, just fast and not caring how it turned out. Just had to put paint to paper. Renee did this too but didn't like it so before I could stop her she ran her fingers thru it messing it up but making a really pretty background page instead. She loves putting a bunch of colors on a page and swirling them around with her hands till it looks right then leaving it. They always turn out great. Ok so now my goal is to figure out how to make these trees, I tried lots more and will only show a few since they are all the same. Still can't get it to swoosh just right for me. Oh and these trees do have a name just can't remember. Renee has given up but loves that I'm still trying and she helps me by TELLING ME WHAT TO DO AND HOW NOT TO DO IT!! Yep she's helping alright, lol gotta love her.

This paper got turned around, sorry about that. I tried watercolor next and just making the blobs of cotton candy part without drawinga whole tree. Also trying to find just the right shades of colors. I also used my fingers on this one. Still not quite right but I'm not giving up!!

Ok, now I'm getting closer to the real look I want. Those purple ones are pretty good ad the bottom green one is also. So I've done a few more pages but these were my favorites so far. Will keep you posted about my progress. Any tips or ideas on making them or the colors even. Trying to get just that right color also. For now I just keep making my swooshes and hoping for the best. MORE OF MY 30 DAYS OF LISTS!!!!

Hello and welcome to another round of MY 30 Day List.... this is DAY 4.... What do you put off till tomorrow: this meant because it was Sunday what might we put off doing today. This was tough for me, I do just about anything on Sunday laundry, dishes, vacuuming, painting, errands, family anything really. So after thinking thru the day this is what I got. This is DAY 5.... Words to Live By.... I am planning on doing more to this page, probably some quotes or sayings from around my inspiration blogs I read. But for now these are what I believe.

This one was so fun, LOVE IT!! DAY 6... THINGS TO COLLECT.... love seeing these bright colors also. I tried to think out of the box a little on this one. Oh man, just realized I spelled #2 wrong, ooops!! 

DAY 7.... I AM INSPIRED BY...... This was another fun one and I took my time thinking of these and decided to play with it a little. Of course afterwards 3 more popped into my head but I'm leaving it like this for now.

DAY 8.... I NEED TO SAY NO ...... This one was tough wasn't sure which direction to think on this one. It could have been about my art side, as a mom, wife?, friend? bad habits? So after thinking thru the day this is what I came up with. I think it shows a little of everything about me.

DAY 9..... MY HAPPY PLACES..... in one word "HOME" it's all I ever wanted or need. This was a fun list and I'm LOVING my tag. Click on the image to see it better. I'm happy to be caught up on my lists and can't wait to see the rest. This time around I'm keeping my list and journal simple and that is making it very easy to stay caught up, thank goodness. RENEE'S ART INSPIRED ME !! SEE HOW

Last week during  study period Renee got out her sharpies and was going to draw a peacock, see those black marked in spots, that's the start. She started coloring in little bits of color and just having fun. When she looked again at her paper it didn't look like a peacock instead it was a beatuful start of something else. She continued on working and loving it the whole time. The end result was this colorful and inspiring paper. Of course she knew I would love it  YEEEEESSSS I DID!! This inspired me to start one and sadly didn't get to finsih but am still going to work on it. Anyhow the next day she made another one then another one the next day but different. This last one inspired me because it's been my slighly obesessive shape for the last month. I bet you can guess what it is!! Keep reading and find out. My kids don't always do art as often as I wish but when they do,  it makes me soooo happy. Summer has been up to some drawing and bless my Sam who hates drawing the most. I got him robot drawing book when he was sick and he's been drawing every single one of them, hooray and they look so awesome. Then just last night he sat down and drew a beautiful flower drawing just because, melt my heart big time. I will share these later next week. I don't want to leave my oldest out (22 3/4 ) she is the artist in the family since the age of 2 I swear that girl knew how to draw and see art everywhere. Thank goodness she is still this way and art is a part of her everyday life. I missed out on enjoying art back then, she was just to dang good for me. So now that I finally have picked up a paintbrush she is with me every time, in my heart, my soul and my love!! She encourages me, supports me, loves my art and that it makes me happy!! SHE GETS IT!! Thank you Kristin and sorry to be late for the party, may we always have art in our lives!!  Ok ok sorry got carried away there, I'm missing her today though. Go look at my pictures, lol

Hello, why is this picture upside down, I must have flipped it accidently, sorry. This is day 2 of Renee's drawing, LOVE THIS STILL!!

This is my art inspired by Renee's. I did mine kinda backwards, I guess she draws the lines first then colors it in. So I'm still working on this and will do more because I love it!! Now are you ready for what really made me happy. Can you guess what it will be????

Did you guess HEARTS!! HEARTS ARE MY OBSESSION RIGHT NOW!! These made me happy and I sat right down and started making some. She ran out of time in class but she made more for me at home and I cut them out and put them in this weeks PL pages, hope to show you soon.

LOOK HOW PRETTY!! I am getting out my graph paper again also, missed it!! I know the blue/white one at the bottom isn't colored in but I wanted it that way, it seemed good enough just like that. Then I got happy again because when I turn the page guess what happened??? Oh and yes I'm weird I know but hey play along with me, ok this is my happy story, lol

So when I turned the page the images were on the back and I kinda like them just as much as the front page, double LOVE!! So I kept drawing them and yes I was squealing and loving this two sided heart heaven!! The orange/white one looks good to me plain just like the blue one, I like making just one stand out I think. Sorry if your bored or really thinking I'm losing my marbles but there's more.

I decided to try something different, wasn't liking it as much so I quit and keep going back to it. Slowly it's growing on me. Then I turn the page and it was love again.

This time I had slipped in a white paper so it wouldn't go thru to the other side and so I could double my art drawing. You guessed it that little heart on the white paper is perfect to me!! I want to do lots more of these. 

So look what one simple but lovingly made artwork from daughter did for me. I love these moments and being inspired to just have fun and play and not worry. Sorry if this was to long but I just had to share the excitment, sometimes it takes the pictures and the WORDS TO TELL A STORY!!

Next up is something new that I was inspired by at the movie, THE LORAX. Yep, totally loved them and wanted to paint right there in the theatre. Since this post is already long though will save it for next time, just so you know it's NOT HEARTS but it is my other obsession, can you guess???

PROJECT LIFE

I love beating Rich at bowling, I have the highest score in our house..... 299 !! This was a good game for me but not my best. Rich is good at the tennis and beats me everytime. I have to get a picture of that next time.

Sienna was helping Colt walk, it was so sweet. She's never done that here before so I'm glad I got this picture of them. He is taking his time learning to walk, doesn't seem interested at all. Of course when he does we will wish he wasn't.

Love seeing these two outside playing and having fun. They've been doing it more and more. They chatter the whole time, like gossip chatter. Yep, they are cute!!

Still love making these colorful hearts, can't get enough of them. This time I took the picture before cutting them out. See how pretty the colors look all together, it's almost to pretty for me to cut up,lol. I've been using the scraps in my art journal pages!! Not sure what I will do with the hearts but I like just making them. I'm sure one of these days I will get bored with them and quit. If you click on the image you can see the pencil mards where the hearts will be, I try to have 3 little colors in each heart.

Renee has been on a sharpie kick this week, LOVE LOVE THIS!! Look at her row perfectly lined up by color, so cute!! She has been making these beautiful art pages and has inspired me to make some too. I will be posting these this week sometime.

Happy Leap Day, the kids and I looked at Project Life from 3 years ago, my first one (sigh, love, sigh) and my family album from 4 years ago. It was so fun and sad at the same time. Renee was Sam's age in these. TIME FLIES!! It was fun to see these memories again, some we had even forgotten. So THANKFUL for PROJECT LIFE & SCRAPBOOKING!! For a surprise I took the kids to DQ for ice cream afterwards. It was a great night for us!

Sam woke up at 2:30am sick poor guy. He kept sick for the next almost 3 hours. So we stayed at home and read book & watch movies from library. It's amazing how quiet and still Sam is when he's sick, heck this is the only time he is quiet and still,lol.. When he is finally better he's extra loud and talks all day and is constantly moving!  Thankfully he felt better the next day.

So that's my week of photos. I still need to order them from walmart and will get my page done and show you. I have journal cards made up just need the pictures. I've decided not to include all the newspaper clippings about Chardon in this and instead will stick them in a folder and put it in the end of the book just so it's there. Hope everyone is enjoying the first week of March and waiting for spring to come soon. I have a feeling this month is going to fly by already.

MY FIRST 3 DAYS OF LISTS HOORAY FOR LISTS

This is Day one of my list.... Challenges to Accept.... hoping to keep these up and work hard on them....

This is Day two of my list... Goals for the Month... I had to think of stuff that wasn't on yesterday's list, kinda the same to me. These are goals that I hope will keep going past this month.... already love making lists but trying to keep it simple. LOVE MASKING TAPE!!

 

This is Day three of my list.... Recipe for a Good Weekend.... I always love this list and it rarely changes. It means more time with family and hopefully having fun what more could you want. I love these colorful sticky notes, they make me HAPPY!!  It is kinda funny that the list was about weekends since our weekend plans have changed due to my little Sam waking up sick at 2:30am and kept getting sick every half hour till 5am. We are tired and he is so sad and miserable. He doesn't "DO SICK" very well at all. So I went to library and got some funny movies and books to keep him happy.

COMMUNITY, LOVE, HOPE AND STRENGTH

This is what's been on my mind each day this week, all day and night.  I'm still in shock at this tragedy and my heart is hurting and so sad. I am writing this without any planning or thinking, just need to get it out , sorry for any confusion or misspellings.

I can't imagine what these people are going thru and will be going thru for a long time. To say that they are a close community before it happens would be an understatement. For this week they are closer then ever before, each and every single one of them are holding their arms out to others, helping each other, listening and some are already forgiving the child that took their kids away. They are walking arm in arm in a united front to head back to school yesterday with their parents and today alone but oh so strong. I'm cheering for them and so inspired by their strentgh and hope!!

They found a true hero in all this tragedy, a football coach who chased down the gunman and thankfully the gunman ran outside and was caught. This man didn't think twice about going after this boy, even though he is a father and husband. His reaction was to save the kids first and loves his school.

It's not just their community either it's ours and the ones around here. We are all doing what we can to support this town and show them we care and they are one of us. When riding thru town this morning I saw the ribbons and the signs up at our stores and schools are taking money to donate to these families. We had to play bball against them last night and our team wore red to warm up in and support them. Everyone hugged while hearing the Nat'l Anthem and came together for that short time to just play ball and put aside the pain they were all feeling.

In the paper today a mom who lost her son that day said if there's one thing I want all of you to know and do is this HUG YOUR CHILD EVERYDAY, JUST HUG THEM LET THEM KNOW YOU LOVE THEM.

In the paper they also included this poster for us to hang on our front doors, which is what you see above, my front door. I'm honoring these families who are in mourning and standing by them.There is a red ribbon hanging on my mailbox too. My plans are to send out a letter to the school and to these families who have lost and the for the ones who are lucky their children are still here and give them love and prayers. Bless to some others who are also doing what they can to make it possible for these parents to take time off work without worries of not being paid. They are donating money and their vactions and personal time for them. This last part just makes me smile and be happy. That's the first thing I would do if I worked with any of these families.

So readers, please remember to hug your child no matter what today, tomorrow and everyday after. Tell them you love them EVERYDAY NO MATTER WHAT.

I'm making a new rule for us in this house: HUGS AND MORE HUGS BEFORE WE LEAVE AND WHEN WE COME HOME. CELEBRATE THE COMING HOME TOO!! 

Each morning my son says good-bye to his sister Summer even though she's upstairs in the bathroom getting ready. He screams it so she will hear and she will scream it right back. This is the last school year for these two doing this. From now on my girls will leave early before Sam is awake. Just last week I had asked him about it and he said " I WILL BE SAD WITHOUT SAYING GOODBYE TO SUMMER AND HAVING OUR MORNING CHATS"  he's not the only one who will be sad, I'm already sad about it. I told Summer what he said and she said I know it sucks that we won't be together anymore. So glad for these two and the way they love each other. Renee has done ok not having them in the mornings but I know she misses it and says HS isn't good enough till Summer joins her there next season.

Thank you for letting me vent and get my feelings out.I appreciate and love each of you!! Please keep them in your prayers.

29 FACTS ABOUT ME!! IT'S LIST TIME AGAIN

In honor of Leap Day yesterday I thought it would be fun to make a list of 29 facts about me. Some you may know already and hoping some will be new for you. Making lists is one of my favorite things to do as you know and I've even joined a list blog twice in the past. GUESS WHAT??!!  Today I signed up at the last minute to join the 30 DAYS OF LIST again for March. So I thought it would be a perfect time to make a list again to share. During this month I will share some of my lists for you, especially the fun ones. I'm hoping to have their badge on my blog soon for you if you'd like to join. Thank you for all the love and prayers you've all be sending to Chardon and their families. They are standing strong and united. Project Life (photos and words finally)

A beautiful sunrise to start our day, was a stunning pink and blue one. I love starting the day with this.

Sam was happy that I made lime jello for a snack then we played some scrabble. GOOD TIMES!

These two played so good together today. Sienna kept telling Colt to play with her and coming up with little games for them to do. Here they were hiding toys under the pillows. He was laughing all morning. This makes me very happy!!

I have been drawing with Sienna in my doodle journal and she loves it. I draw flowers for her and she made the little suns and the puts a circle around each flower and a big one around all of it. LOVE LOVE THIS and seeing her enjoy doing this me.

Colt is so cute in this picture, he's flashing those baby blues hoping to get Renee's cell phone from her. He loves her phone and she always shares it with him, CUTENESS ALWAYS WINS!!!

Packing up the girls American Girl Dolls and their Webkinz, it was kinda sad for all of us. We got the girls new chests of drawers for their room. Pictures coming later on that.

The kids went to a AWESOME AND FUN PAINTING ACTIVITY AT THE LIBRARY!! LOVE these and that they will be hanging in our library.

We had dinner out at CiCi's Pizza, it is a buffet of about 9 different pizza's. They even have mac/cheese pizza and my favorite is spinach and alfredo. We stuffed ourselves on pizza and their yummy cheesy bread and dessert. So nice to go out as a family.

Here is a cute one of my Lucky sitting in the sun, always does this. Looks so sweet!!

These two played and hung out today for their day off, got lots of great photos of them. So happy they are buddies 90% of the time. She has even been giving him hugs just because.

So that is my week of photos, I know that's more then 7 but I've made collages again of the bigger moments and will squeeze them in. I also have artwork, ticket stubs, school papers and notes about Colt's menus from his mom. It is kinda nice to actually show you the pictures this time instead of my finished pages. They are still being worked on, lol.... Thankfully the text is working under each photo this time, hoping it will stay this way when I hit the publish button. I kinda got it working but still needs a little work.

On another note, some of my readers know I'm from Ohio and may have heard about the school shooting. Yes it is close to me about 20/30mts away which is way to close for me. Sadly one life has been taken and others still badly injured. It is a tragic for anyone to experience this, can't imagine the pain and worries these people are having. I'm asking you my readers to please keep these families and their community in your prayers. It will be a life changing event for many people and they need all the love and support they can get. Thank you for your help!! Hug your little ones tonight and enjoy each precious moment with them.
