We went camping!!

We were excited to go camping last weekend, it's been two years since we've gone. I love camping, being outside all day and surrounded by trees and gorgeous sky, sigh it's so good!! In the past we've gotten to set up camp right by the pool and the bathrooms, just steps away. This time they've changed it and the area was filled with campers, so we had to go back a ways into some more wooded area. Not my favorite part but we managed, it was a 20 minute walk to the pools and bathroom which we did numerous times. Sometimes we drove up to them, especially the middle night ones and first early morning ones. We got there Saturday about 11:00 and left Sunday morning, Renee had to work at 10 and the other two and Rich said they had enough. I could have stayed for the afternoon though, love nature. I came right home and unpacked, started laundry and showered then sat on deck with a hot cup of tea. All in all it went pretty good since w don't go to often. Here's some peeks of our fun!
Sam and Summer played a lot of catch and Frisbee, I played with Sam when Summer took a break.
The kids made up their beds in the tent, so cute!
Lucky hid under the table for shade and to rest from running around checking out everything. She wanted to go to bed first that night. She was pawing at the tent and pushed her head to squeeze in the zippered door, too funny. She took a long nap then came and peeked out at us as if asking when we were going to bed. Seriously cute and I think she was done sitting on the hard ground and wanted her comfort and blankets back. Not sure she is made for roughing it, lol.

I took a few self timer pictures so I could get us all in a photo and to just get myself at times. Love using the timer. See the reflection in the car hood, so cool!
I liked seeing this row of picnic tables next to our camp site, wish we could have taken one or two home with us.
Rich did all the cooking, YUM!! Potatoes, onion and garlic salt wrapped in foil. YUM! Sadly, some of them burned and when making the hamburgers on the griddle the dog made the griddle of them fall and thankfully Rich caught it before they all fell. Food smells so good cooked outside and tasted wonderful. Thanks for cooking honey!
Dinner time!
We went to the snack bar and got ice cream instead of making smores
Fun times around the fire before bed, we were all tired by then
Next morning by the fire and my Bible study book,  loved this quiet time outside
Breakfast outside, smelled so good and tasted so good!
Just like that we all worked to clean up and pack up for home.
So glad we got the chance to squeeze camping in this summer.
Thanks for reading, have a great weekend!

Fun with Turquoise Ave and #hashtagweek

Hello, sorry it's been so long since I've posted, busy enjoying the summer and having a slow computer keeps me from posting weekly. I'm excited to be sharing today that I'm a guest host at turquoiseave.com this week in her fun #hashtagthisweek weekly prompt project. Each Sunday she shares a new photo/story prompt to use in any way we want. I love to use these prompts to give me ideas of stories I wouldn't think of and for ones to use in my Project Life.

Mandy, the pretty face and sweet heart behind this idea asked me several weeks ago if I'd like to be a guest and to choose a prompt that I'd like. She didn't know this but I had been thinking of some ideas and was going to write asking if I could join in the fun sometime. Love when things happens this way, right!  I had a few ideas and decided on one that I've used before and enjoyed, counting things in our daily lives, keeping track of the daily routine activities and things that we may not think about but tells a story in its number. Doesn't have to be big, I personally like the smaller stories.

One of my very favorites is the shoe shots that I take,  they can be done in any season and anywhere and tell a story of who was there and where you were and what was going on and especially the growth of those in the pictures. The one above is a favorite because it's the little ones I babysit for and thankfully put up with and enjoy taking shoe shots with me. What once started as just one little one in my shoe shots are now two little ones. Their feet have grown and the shoes have changed many times and show their favorite colors at the time or personal style. Imagine in 6 years what this shot will look like, if they will even let me still do these shots then.
I also love taking these kinds of pictures because not everyone wants their pictures taken at the times I want to take them. My teens want their hair and clothes to be perfect or they aren't in the mood or people might be watching. I can usually coax them into taking a shoe shot really quick though and so my story can be told. I also like doing my own shoe shots too, my favorites are in the first snow of the year and the first pile of leaves or in the garden. This way my story is getting told, it's not just about the kids, make sure you are a part of the stories you tell too. If you have furry friends add them in the photos as well. Anything goes, make it fun.

This is just one of the ways I keep track of the stories in my life, to see more of them head over to Mandy's blog turquoiseave.com and check them out. Hope you will join in the fun with me this week as we document our lives in numbers.

Thank you Mandy so much for asking me to be a guest this week. Hope to join in again!

Thanks for reading and have a  great week.
