HELLO FEBRUARY

I love writing these posts, embracing a new month and remembering the month that was just here. Now that January is almost gone I see how good it was even in all the mixed up cold and bad things. Sometimes it's those kind of days/week/months that will surprise us and make us stronger and hold on to our faith tighter. That's what this month has been for me. I'm blessed to see the gifts in everyday, no matter the size or the value, too me they are each special and treasured. More days I know how precious life is, to enjoy that very moment and take what you can from it and store in your heart. I am feeling loved and wanting to spread love wherever I go and to whoever I can. So thankful for God and all he's done for me and continues to do EVERY DAY!! He helped us get thru this month and made it one that I learned from more then any January I've had. THANK YOU GOD!!
Goodbye January, thank you for all that you gave us and even for the things we didn't want but received anyhow. May you be here again next year to remind me of all the blessings and unwanted surprises in life that help us grow.

WHAT A CRAZY WEEK THIS HAS BEEN AND HAPPY MOMENTS!!

Hello, I'm once again posting without pictures! I have tried a few things but none of them is working and I don't have enough energy to try again right now. What a crazy week it's been, going to get it out in writing while I remember it!

Seems that things breaking is what the theme is around here. Right after getting the leaking valve fixed, Rich's car broke down on the way to work, it's still in the shop and will hopefully be done Monday. Thankful for friends that can give him rides to/from work so I can have my van for the kids and errands.

My cold is still here, better in a way but still here. I went to the doctor and now have some medicine that can help clear it all out and makes me sleepy.

My van got a flat tire on way to mall today, REALLY!!??  It was suppose to be a quick trip to the mall to get me and girls out of the house for finally. We've had no days out just us girls and every week there is more snow/cold days and we are stuck sitting here at home.
So thankful for the kind men that came along and helped, that spare tire didn't want to come out. My dad was there too and helped. Thankful these guys stopped by even in the snow and cold to help us. Three hours later we got home safely with the spare tire on. Sadly, no trip to the mall.

Thru it all, I'm praying and having to remind myself we can get thru it. We are all here safe and warm and have each other, that's all I need!!

There is also celebrating going on... Colt just turned 3, YAY!! He's potty training, YAY!! He is so cute and wants a strawberry cake and is excited about it. He loves cars and trucks so much, love this because I do too. I love when he calls me Miss Dawn in his little voice and smiles at me. He asks the same questions over and over, plays so well with Summer, sleeps in my big bed now, loves food as much as Sienna, is getting way to big. Loves the snow!

Two more birthdays are coming up... Renee will be 17, YAY!! I can't believe it already, seems she just turned 16. She has been letting Summer play and do things with her hair, LOVE THIS!! She did great in her last semester, YAY!! Now she's excited about her new classes, if only they would quit canceling school. She will now eat Spinach in Lasagna and Rigatoni, YES!!! She loves watching Ellen and her new shows are back on... The Fosters and Mellissa and Joey. WOW, she is growing up so much! Thankful she helped me this week with Lucky while I didn't feel like taking her for a walk.

Summer is doing great, enjoying her hair and Renee's hair, YAY!!  She is tired of the snow and cold too but handling it well. She helped take Lucky outside this week too. She did good in her last semester and isn't looking forward to her new classes, haha. She has been playing so well with Colt and Sienna, she has patience and love for them and makes them laugh and be silly. Love that her and Sam can jam together in the backseat to certain songs, LOVE THIS!!

Sam has gone to bed and been so good this week. We watched Tree House Masters a few times and just sat in the chair together a few times this week when I was too tired for anything else. He has hung up his coat without me telling him too and straighten everyone's shoes for me. He doesn't like anything about school sadly, not sure why but it doesn't fit him. I think he'd rather be running and playing and running somewhere instead. His grades were good but I'm hoping they will be a bit better this semester. He still says the funniest things out of the blue and makes us all laugh. He loves to hug, anyone and everyone. He plays too much Mine Craft, plays dodgeball at the YMCA and is waiting for the snow to stop and be warm enough to go outside finally!

Can't forget Sienna, she is 51/2 today, WOW!! I really don't want her growing up so fast. She has been such a blessing for me in so many ways. I will miss her next year when she starts full time at school, the day will be weird with just Colt here. She naps so good when she's tired, I love when I see her sleeping and so quiet and sucking her thumb and a little snore. She loves making forts/houses for her and Colt to play in. She wants his cars and trucks badly but he doesn't like to share them. I need to buy her some so she can have her own. She still loves art but not as much and doesn't take an hour on just one page anymore. She is sounding out letters very well and reads lots of words now. She always hugs me when she gets off the busy, I can tell she misses me like I miss her, YAY!! We love to play my church music on my phone while we do art or just for her and Colt to sit and listen too. She hums them and sings them to herself while she plays, LOOOOVE THIS!! She is interested in my hot tea now that I've been drinking it all the time, might have to have a tea party with her. Her teeth she lost are still not all the way in, taking their time. She loves to take apart her PB&J and eat it that way. She also loves to put things on her sandwiches and mix things up. She is happy I cleaned up my space and keeps asking me HOW DID YOU DO ALL THAT WORK!! She's so cute and precious.

Rich has been reading about 4 books a week by the same author, a whole series he's just found and LOVES!! He is dreaming about springtime and planting his garden. He wishes things wouldn't break down and is trying so hard not to get bummed out about it. He is taking good care of me this week not feeling good, always helpful and sweet. Takes the kids to the gym, the library, the store. Work is very busy for him right now and he's doing great and is getting ready for inventory next weekend. The Indians is all he wants to hear about right now, HE LOVES BASEBALL!!! He's been drinking milk now and less pop, YAY!! He's so tired of the cold and all the added work and YUCKY it brings. COME ON SPRING AND WARM TEMPS!!! He is ready to retire too, not old enough to but so ready to just sit and watch the birds and trees and just sit in peace!

Sorry this got so long, just kept writing and didn't want to stop. I love getting our story out this way! I've been keeping up with PL except for the writing part, maybe that's why I had to write so much here, lol.
Hope everyone is warm or cool where they live. Here the artic freeze is coming back and the kids will probably get 3 more "snow days" this week which puts us over our limit and will have to me made up at the end of school, BOO!!!  We are all getting cabin fever and running out things to do with this crazy weather. Oh and ice cream has been my best friend along with tissues this week.

Going to go have some pie that Rich just made and ice cream and watch the movie TURBO with the kids. Thankful for these quiet, almost boring, nothing to do but chill kinda days with them. I know one day they will be out of the house, time is going by faster each year so I need to enjoy them while I can.

p.s. Kristin, is doing amazing and good and getting over her bad cold. She's been home for a year now and I love having her home again. She is so ready for her mission trip this July, she got to meet a girl in her team. The more she knows about her group the more excited she gets. She has grown up so much!!! She will be missed but am so thankful for this time with her now. I love watching her with the kids and how she loves them!

Thanks so much if you read all this!! Fingers crossed nothing else breaks!! Happy weekend!

HELLO AND UPDATES

Hello, just wanted to update you and say THANK YOU for the comments and good wishes for us and the pipes. Thankfully we got it fixed Thursday night, turned out to be a valve and not a whole plumbing issue, YAY!! Had a good friend come over and look and was able to fix it, so happy with that.
As you can see though, I still can't upload pictures here. Haven't had time to look into it much either. The girls were home last Thurs and Fri and all the kids will be home Mon/Tues coming up and then I babysit the next two days after that. Friday will be my catch up day on chores/errands and then it's weekend time already. See how I just went thru a whole week already, so really this month is already over for me. Probably the least productive Janurary I've ever had. Hoping next month will go much better.
I'm still cleaning up my craft space and trying to figure out how much to leave there and the rest to be packed upstairs to a hall closet. I spent a few hours yesterday and will again today going over old pictures and getting rid of the bad ones, doubles and misc. ones. Doing this will clear up a bunch of space in that closet along with some old magazines I've had in there. Hoping to have all this done by then end of the month, wish me luck!
The weather had turned freezing cold again, not inspiring at all and makes me lazy and just want to hide under the covers. I also have a cold now and that's not helping me either. Still going thru the days but much slower and with tissues in hand.
The Valentine decorations are coming down and will keep me busy along with cutting out hearts for our SHOW LOVE TO ALL month. This concept is almost the same as my thankful leaves in November.
I cut up hearts and put them in a jar and each day we fill one out for everyone in the house and either leave it on the kitchen door or hide it somewhere in their space to surprise them. I love doing this and the first time we did the house had hearts all over the walls and doors and the kids enjoyed it so much. Last year I even did this with the little ones when they came over and they loved it. The idea is to write something nice on the heart, could be something they did that day or why you love them or anything that will make that person feel loved and special. We need that sometimes here, as you know siblings aren't always nice and loving to one another. I keep these hearts too and will add them to the back of my PL.
Hope my computer issues will be fixed for next month so I can share them with you. Feel free to look at my ones from last year in February.
Have a good week and thanks for coming by if you did. I will get around to your blogs when I have a free time too.

T Stand for This and That and Tuesday

Hello and Happy T Day, today is the day we head over to Elizabeth's  and share a drink of any kind and what's going on in your day. Can you believe the first week of 2014 has flown by already. The weather has changed in this time too, we are below zero now and the wind is whipping around my windows. Hoping all of you in this weather are staying safe and warm right now.

I have a new tea cup to share with you today, there is a peek of it above. My mom got it for me for Christmas, it was the last one and she knew it would be perfect for me, yes, it is MOM!! Thank you! I even had some new tea in it from my sister, which was her Christmas gift for me. We had been on a vacation last summer and they didn't have any Lipton tea so I tried their English Breakfast Tea and liked it. She remembered and bought me a box of it, it was perfect. In this picture I'm planning a menu plan for us this month. Still working on it but doing good. It's all part of the class I won a spot in, YAY!! The teacher is the awesome, crazy, funny talented Cathy Zielske and it's called Move More Eat Well Jumpstart (MMEW), it's only been a week but I love it already. Will be sharing pictures of what we are doing as the month goes on. I also have 2 blog friends in the class with me, my fashion California friend Andrea who won the spot with me and dear friend Tracey who most of you know signed up too and know we can motivate and keep each other on track this year, YAY!!
Here is a better picture of the tea cup, even came with a coaster. I've never had a coaster with my tea before, felt so fancy and I love what it says too. Mom, was right, this cup is perfect for me.
Here is another special gift I received my dear friend Nancy that I go to church with. She had made one for someone in our class and I loved it so much she went right home that day and made one just for me. Isn't it pretty, I love this and it's still out being enjoyed along with my tree that I can't part with just yet. Thanks so much Nancy, I LOVE IT!! Stay warm and safe my friend!

I'd like to share something else exciting, at least for me it is!! I bought this myself and have wanted one for a couple years now and finally I have one and I'm loving it so much!!
a huge new bookcase for my scrapbooks!! Isn't it pretty, yes you can laugh at me but I love it!! All day yesterday I cleaned it and filled it up and played and rearranged and even my PL kits fit on it!! It makes me smile every time I walk into the room. I feel so little next to it too, haha. There's room for more albums which means maybe I will start scrapping again or just leave it this way.
Now to show you where all these were before I got this new gorgeous bookcase that I love, haha!
I know they look messy but I'm working on them. The one on the left is what held all my albums and the tiny one on the right is what held all that's on the brown shelf here. Hope that makes sense. So they all got new homes and even though they look messy it's better then what it was. So these are all my art journals and art journal stuff/loose papers/files/class stuff and old books to use and my canvas that are done and for me. I somehow magically have to make this look all pretty now like my new bookcase is. I can see me getting another new bookcase, so much more room on it. So this kept me busy all weekend and will again during the week.

I know this post is already long but I also have PL to share, can you hang in there a bit longer!!
Here is the first few days, love the Christmas feel to it and hard to believe I was at the track Dec.1st. You can click on the image to see better if you need.
I had fun with this page, my mom's note to me, happy to keep hold of that and in the bottom corner the little mailbox. That was one of my Christmas cards I sent out, cropped it and saved it because I think it's so pretty. On the left side it's about my Secret Pal dinner at church, love this one too.

I have plenty more to show you but will save for another time so I can show you my first week in the new Project Life 2014 album. Couldn't wait to start on this album, a fresh new year of memories!
Here it is, the first few day of the new year. My weeks go from Saturday to Friday so I squeezed in our first couple days in this spread. Seems that a lot of my PL will have snow memories in them. On the left side, I still need to do the journaling about the new class I won. My album this year is the most colorful one I've had too, the Honey album and the kits are a mix of 3 that I have. So there you have it, it's officially a new year for me when the first pages get done, YIPPEE!!

Well, I will be home with the kids again tomorrow, today they should have gone back but with the cold it will be a couple extra bonus days for them now.  Thanks for reading it all if you made thru it, can't wait to see what your doing on this cooooold snowy winter Tuesday!!

Thank you again for hosting us on Tuesday's Elizabeth

Hello January and Hello 2014

Hello and Happy New Year! How did the big night go for you? Anyone stay awake to ring in the New Year? I actually made it, in fact we all did, YIPPEE!! It was a quiet evening at home, good thing because the snow started that morning and it still hasn't stopped and looks like it will keep going thru tomorrow night. YIKES!! I told Sam he could turn off the snow machine now, haha. I'm sure my dear friend Nancy is loving this and thanking Sam for asking for it. Sorry Nancy, I made him stay inside all day and grounded him from playing out in it just for you!!  Let's not even think of the below temps coming for next week when the kids are due back to school. NO SNOW DAYS ALLOWED!

So the above picture is from NYE and what has become a tradition for about 6 years I want to say. Somehow Sam started it and it stuck. We have fondue about 8 or 9 that night. We use fruit and mini oreos, marshmallows, teddy bears and dip these into chocolate syrup, whip cream or peanut butter. Great way to end the year I think, messy fun and this time Kristin is home to enjoy it too. The rest of the night was spent just hanging out, watching a movie and looking at the last 2 years of Project Life.
Now I'm ready to say.........................
