PROJECT LIFE & TREE ART

HELLO PROJECT LIFE!! This is my second week of my THANKFUL photos or thoughts. I can't say enough how much this month of thanks means to me. I'm feeling more blessed this year then last year. To pick only one thing each day is hard but that's why I keep filling up lots of thankful leaves so it's all there. Darn, just realized I forgot to get a  picture of the leaves. Please someone remind me next time, lol... so what's cool about this week is the mix of fall, snow and Christmas all in one week. LOOOOOVE THIS!!!  I really like the look of this week because of the mix!! Close -up time....
here is the left side, sorry for the glare. Look at the lights and the snow and holiday goodness all one side!! Seeing lights this time of year is my FAVORITE thing of all, better then presents even!! So thankful my hubby will put them on for me, mine would be a complete mess. LOVE LOVE the leaves with snow on them, just the first little bit we got last Tuesday!! Last Wednesday we went to the Christmas Child even at our church. So thankful that we could help the kids less fortunate then us. The kids loved filling up shoe boxes for them, it was an amazing feeling and we can't wait to do it again next year. I also signed up for Alisa Burke's holida class and so far I LOVE it. Hoping to show you my projects from the class in the next couple weeks.
This side is all about fall!! Those leaves in the top corner are from the kids, so happy to have these. I take them out each week for Thanksgiving then wrap and pack away gently since one is already broken. LOVE seeing my tree art there!! Thankful my hubby loves to play and is amused by the simple things in lif ejust like me!! We had our Thanksgiving feast at church Saturday night, the tables looked beautiful. I didn't want to ruin Thanksgiving food for me so all I ate was the coleslaw, rolls and sweet potatoes. Had the best time there and can't wait till next years. So there is another week done. can you believe December will be here soon, then a NEW YEAR!! So excited by this.
I have another tree here for you today. Can anyone guess what this one will be??? Come on guess???
Did you guess right?? Thank you Linda for this idea, I LOVE IT!! There is still more being planned but won't be done till later on. Busy working on Christmas surprises!!
So I did the same background with masking tape and then painted over it with a light red but looks pink. I made the tree bigger do look more like a full Christmas tree, might even add some glitter to it later. The list is all my thoughts about the tree and the LIGHTS are my favorite part!! Here is the list in case you can't read it. ( Linda I will post the fall list later for you)
1. DECORATE ME!!
2. LOTS OF LIGHTS!!
3. KEEP THE PETS AWAY, HAHA OUR CAT LIKES TO CLIMB IT
4. SIT BESIDE ME AT NIGHT WITH ONLY THE TREE LIGHTS ON... I DO THIS ALL SEASON BEFORE BED.
5. HANDLE WITH CARE... MEANING TAKE CARE OF IT, IT'S SPECIAL
6. O' CHRISTMAS TREE... LOVE THAT SONG
7. PUT PRETTY PACKAGES UNDER ME...(THAT'S THE KIDS FAVORITE PART)
I'm happy to have another tree done. Thanks so much EVERYONE for your sweet comments on my trees in the last post. THEY MADE MY DAY!!!  Now for one last photo, this is for the hubby!!
ONLY 3 MORE DAYS BABY!!! OUR THANKSGIVING WILL BE HERE!! HE WAS SOOOO THRILLED THAT I TOOK THIS PICTURE, WANTS ME TO BLOW IT UP FOR HIS OFFICE.

TREE INSPIRED ART.... LOVE IT!!

I'm so happy to be sharing a art journal page with you today! Why is it making me so happy?? Well, first it's about TREES and you know how crazy I am about trees and second is because I got these done pretty fast which is a BIG deal to me. I'm going to show a close up of each one so first let me explain where this idea came from. My dear blog friend Shahrul had a page like this posted yesterday and I fell in love with it right away. In her post she shares about finding  a poem called "Advice from a Tree" by Ilan Shamir and link to the poem and about how it came to be. Please Please go and check it out, you will enjoy it so much just like I did. Here is the link to her blog which will take you to the poem link... http://suchprettycanvas.blogspot.com please let me know what you thought. Now I put a little twist on my pages as you will see from her page. Hers is the actually poem about trees and I turned mine into specific trees and getting advice from them. How about close ups...
Of course this was the first tree I thought of, FALL FALL FALL my favorite season of all. To make these pages there is masking tape on the background and watercolor around the edges and little thru the middle. I used fallish colors and punched out leaves to give it a real fall look. I loved it!! Then I wrote some things that come to mind about my love for trees. Now for close ups...
I did some stamping on the bottom, LOVE THIS!!
sorry it's kinda blurry, but see the masking tape and orange splats, LOVE!!
My family loved this page too when it was done. I enjoyed putting a fun little twist on it and making it really about how I feel about trees. Now for the next tree close-up...
Of course a "family tree" comes to mind when thinking of trees, right??  This was a little trickier for me, whether to make it funny, quotes only, pictures of family, my family sayings, the list goes on. In the end I decided to put a few famous quotes in there and then my own personal feelings about families. There was suppose to be more hearts but I got carried away with the circle puncher, lol.  I love how this one came out too. Click on the images for this and the above one to read the lists better. Let me know if you can't read them and I will list them. The color of this one does match Shahrul's art page too, I love these colors together and it reminds me of families ALL AROUND the world. Now for close-ups...

I used the same stamp at the bottom with some light green, so pretty and fun!!
See the paint and masking tape, MUST DO THIS MORE!! Who knew masking tape could be so fun and I love these papers. Thanks so much Shahrul for inspiring me today with your TREE post. So glad I took the time to jump right in and start 2 pages about it. I bet we will both be doing more of these!!  I can't even pick a favorite, LOVE THEM BOTH!!

If you didn't see my Project Life post, scroll down to the one before this. It's my first full 10 days of what I'm thankful for. This week's thankful post will be coming up on Sunday I think, still loving this month of thanks. Happy Weekend everyone, take time to stop and admire the trees in your life.

PROJECT LIFE NOV 1-10..THANKFUL

Hello Project Life!! This week starts my thankful photos for the month, I squeezed in the first 10 days so that it wasn't broken up between months. It was hard at first deciding how to fit them all in but finally it came together. Now the next PL pages will be just a normal 7 days like usual. While working on this week though my thoughts went to wanting some digital elements to play with. If you've seen Ali's and even Cathy's PL then you see how they write words and other fun stuff to their pictures and journal cards. I don't have photoshop so that's holds me back from even thinking about it. Hoping next year to do some digi that isn't with photoshop and see how it goes. I love the idea of writing on my pictures, the idea that the words are RIGHT THERE with the picture makes me happy. I also didn't show it yet but there will be a page protector here holding the newspaper announcing that President Obama is president again. On the back side of that will be a collage from Sam's birthday. I can't help but want more pictures of his birthday, just seeing one here isn't enough. Close-up time..
here is the left side...You will remember these from the last post I just did. See the writing on my church picture, love doing that. The bottom tree one, would have loved to write on that one.
here is the right side. See that first photo of the kids, LOVE writing on the card next to the picture. See how my thoughts kept going to digi this week, that's probably a first for me!! My favorite favorite is of that little Colt waving bye to me, he was here yesterday and did it all over again. At first I was going to cut the picture and put the journaling beside it. Then I kept seeing his dad in the back waiting at the car with a big smile on his face. Of course I couldn't cut it, love knowing that Colt/Sienna can see their dad like this, always patient and enjoying this little moment just like I do. Thanks Scott for not rushing them out the door!! The little jouranl card with the sunrise makes me happy too, LOVE that we finally had a sunrise that day. The bottom left picture was from my thankful book I do each night. It's been peaceful to sit at night and really think about my day and recounting all that I'm thankful for. So there isn't a picture really for this one but it's the whole day filled with surprises that I want to remember. The birthday one of Sam just cracks me up, pumpkin pie instead of cake and Sam singing happy birthday along with us to himself. He is just too cute sometimes. This whole week makes me excited all over again for this month and for this album. So that's my week all wrapped up and done. Hoping this week will go quick for me also.
Just had to pop this picture in !! We had a teenie tiny bit of snow blowing around on Tuesday and I took the time to get some pictures. This is my favorite of the leaves still hanging on the tree staying strong against the wind and rain we've had and the little bit of snow on them. Excited now for that first "real" snow to come and the magic of it. Not ready for the cold but ready for the snow part.

THANKSGIVING IS IN ONE WEEK PEOPLE....ONE WEEK..... I CAN'T WAIT.....MY HUBBY CAN'T WAIT....ONE WEEK TO EAT FOOD THAT DOESN'T TASTE THAT GOOD...ONE WEEK TILL I CAN SMELL THE TURKEY COOKING....ONE WEEK TO HAVE HUBBY HOME ALL DAY AND LONG WEEKEND WITH ME...ONE DAY TO BE SO THANKFUL FOR ALL I HAVE AND HOW LUCKY WE ARE TO BE HERE....ONE WEEK TILL I CAN EAT TURKEY..... CRANBERRY SAUCE.....STUFFING....OH MAN NOW I'M REALLY CRAVING IT...BETTER STOP THINKING ABOUT IT....HAVE A GOOD WEEK AND THANKS SOOOOO MUCH FOR THE COMMENTS ON MY LAST POST LOVE READING THEM.... Project Life and maybe a video

Hello Project Life!! I have the last week of October and few days of November that aren't part of my thankful project. I will squeeze them into this weeks thankful pictures so they all start together on same page. My first thought was to put all Halloween but I wanted to capture other sweet/ life stories that happened also. LOVE HOW THAT WORKS!! Now for some close ups...
here is the right side. I used the bigger jouranl card to write about each picture. I need to get something printed out about "Sandy" and it will replace the flower paper in the top left corner and the jouranling aobut it will go on the blank journal card. Click on the image to read the journal card. My favorite story this week is about Sam having his first girlfriend. In the first picture he is talking to his big sister and telling her about it. SEE HIS RED CHEEKS KRISTIN, SOOO CUTE HE IS!!
here is the right side, a little mix of Halloween and the little ones and SAM! He went to his first dance on Friday then we took him and his girlfriend to the movies on Saturday and he tricked/treated with her on Sunday, what a lucky weekend for him this was. See that sweet photo in the bottom right, Sienna loves watching Sam play outside with Lucky, I want her to remember these times when she's older. It's been so cold and wet I haven't gotten her outside to play so she settled for watching.
Will post thankful photos sometime this weekend, we have bday celebrations for Sam !!!!

HALLOWEEN 2012

This Halloween was cold, rainy and windy all day long. That didn't stop the kids from having fun though. Here is their bags full of goodies that night. It doesn't look like much but for them it was good. Due to Sandy hitting the east coast our county decided to have trick/treating this past Sunday due to some power outages still going on. The kids got a bonus trick/treat night this year because of the power outages we have due to "Sandy". On Sunday they got to visit the other side of our town (where we use to live) and get about 4x more then you see here. They have never had that much candy before and it's making them very happy. So let's see some pictures of my crazy kids...
Here is Sam that afternoon at his school parade, he took off his mask to say hello to us. Sienna was with us too and I asked him to not scare her with the mask, so sweet that he took it off. I wish now that I'd gotten her picture too. She loved seeing her cousins in the parade. It is freezing out and the rain was drizzling at this time, poor kids had no coats on. This is the last year for Sam and the parade.
Here is my niece in the pink Katy Perry costume. She looks so pretty and grown up to me!
here is my other niece as vampire princess in the black. She is getting taller by the minute!
here is my Renee as a clown... got all these from the dollar tree.... I think she's too big for trick/treating but she says I"M GOING MOM!! She loved this wig and glasses.

here is my Summer as a cowgirl wearing a warm sweatshirt though. The kids had to bundle up tonight to stay warm. She looks cute though and did great this year, even though I told her she's too OLD for trick/treating. The kids just love getting candy though so off they went with us.
what a funny pair these two are. Summer was actually going to be a princess with a long hair blond wig then changed her mind at last minute and didn't want the wig. LOVE THESE TWO!!
sorry for the blurry photo, it's the only one he would let me get of him. This young man declared he was hot and didn't want layers or gloves on. Of course an hour later we had to come home and put layers and fresh socks and winter boots and gloves on him because he was freezing. I gave him a lecture of listening to his mom the first time. I was almost going to let him freeze as a lesson to listen next time. Good thing his awesome dad was here to take over the matter. He is a sea goblin by the way. He recounts his candy and plays with it everyday still, this kid would eat it all now if he could.
I laugh everytime I see this photo, no other year has made me laugh like this year. They are something aren't they, LOVE IT!! We usually take more photos outside but it's too yucky out and the wind makes it hard to hold a camera and an umbrella at the same time.
I put my umbrella down to get at least one shot of my FAVORITE GUY!! He was dressed in 4 layers just like me. We had a good time tonight and love talking about the past Halloweens when the kids were little. I remember 11 years ago and being big and pregnant with Sam we had fun going out that night with the girls. I was tired but hung in there for the long haul enjoying each moment with them. That night we both said ok Sam anytime you are ready come on out and meet us. I was so worried I'd have him before Halloween and miss out going with the girls. Well he kept me waiting almost  2 more weeks till we met him. Just in time to enjoy Thanksgiving our FAVORITE HOLIDAY!!
The best part, dumping and sorting and trading the candy!

I was going to share my Project Life but forgot to upload the pictures. Will be back tonight or tommorow morning to show you. I decided at the last minute to start my Thankful photos into this weeks photos. It fit better that way and I wanted room for other stories and Halloween photos. So come back soon to see those and then hoping to post my Thankfuls for this week on Friday.
Good luck to those going out to the polls today, hoping not to wait in long lines or out in the cold for some of us. I will be heading there tonight after a day with kids home and babysitting today.

30 DAYS OF THANKFUL...days 1-3

Thankful Day 1..... Sienna and Colt... I can't explain the joy and love that I have for these 2 cousins of mine. I'm sooooo very blessed and honored to be their babysitter. If it wasn't for this time with them we wouldn't even know each other. They have taught me so much in these 4 short years and will continue to for a long time. I'm also blessed to know their parents and how much they do for me and touch my life. Today Sieanna set up this little corner/fort for them to play in and filled it with toys for them. When looking at last November's photos just now I was happily surprised to see she did this exact same thing last year almost to the day. I LOVE THIS!! Thank you sweet babies for all you do.
Thankful Day 2.... STORIES....My story....their story....the big and small stories...the everyday stories...our story.... this photo is from Ali Edward's blog today announcing a new class for next year. I knew this would be what I'm thankful for today.... being the storyteller in my family has kept my heart and soul filled with joy and peace for many years..... this past year though not many stories are getting told due to my interest in art journaling.... I'm planning on making stories come first now and this class will be perfect for me..... The amazing Ali has taught me so much about telling stories and finding them and so much more..... so along with being thankful for stories I'm thankful for her sharing hers with us.... this might even be my OLW for next year.... keep telling your stories ladies...
Thankful Day 3.... the connection between BIG sister and LITTLE brother.... Kristin and Sam.... I'm thankful that they stay in touch mostly thru my iphone..... with her living in Florida and us in Ohio the visits are few and far between.... she is excited for each new event in his life and is quick to find out all the details from him.... this week it's about his first real girlfriend.... we always told him he couldn't have one that he was mine and Krisitins boy forever.... she loves him so much and he does her.... I hope this connection stays strong thru all their lives.... thank you Kristin for loving him!!!

For this month I will be taking a photo everyday of what I'm thankful for and putting these into my Project Life. During this month I will be linking up with Cathy Zielske's blog for her 30 days of Thankful every Friday. I do plan on having my Halloween pictures up on Tuesday though and then Project Life on Friday. Thank you for nice comments on my last post, makes my day!! HUGS!!

So what makes this month so special...THANKSGIVING!!! It is my favorite holiday along with my hubby's. He does most of the cooking that day. We can't wait for it too come, HAPPY DANCE!! I'm excited to do this first HELLO post today. I've always been inspired by my dear friend Tracey's each month and had to do it for my favorite time of year. Thanks Tracey for the inspiration. These are the first Thankful leaves from today, click on image to see better. Sam didn't want to do his yet but the rest of us got ours in and even did more then one. I will be adding a poem in the middle of this later on. Please feel free to do a thankful project and share it here with me, would love to have others.
I am way past due to show some art and so I have some pieces to share. This one and the next few are inspired from my creative and sweet friend Shahrul. She did a rainbow page with masking tape on it and then ripped off some of the tape. I LOVE THIS IDEA!! I knew right away that FALL would be my word to outline with masking tape. I then painted over it with fall colors and a quick doodle around the edges. Then I pulled off the tape and this is how it looked. I then did more pages.
On this page it's about WORDS TO LIVE BY for me. I left some of the tape on the shapes after paitning them. Just did some doodling around each one, nice and simple the way I like it. This was fun for me too and I like all the colors and doodles. Will do this one again with different theme.
went with the fall theme again. leaves one the left and tree on the right. I thought about filling in the leaves but I am always wanting "WHITE" space on most of my art and scrapping so I left it and want to do more. I have done a tree like this before, I forgot all about it. I LOVE seeing these fall colors in the background, must do more of these and then winter ones too. Thanks Shahrul for inspiring me. Sorry it took me so long to post these.
Happy November everybody, I"M THAKFUL FOR ALL OF YOU!!!!
