DREAM HOUSE WITH MY COLORS!!! COME SEE IT!!

Welcome to the YMCA 2012 DREAM HOUSE!!! As some of you know from last summer, this is a fun event that we do each summer, buying tickets and touring the DREAM HOUSE with hopes of winning the HOUSE if it suits us or taking the $200,000 cash offer instead. We have been doing this for about 8 years now I think, each year is fun and we can't wait to see what it will look like. The location is changed each year and so is the theme of the house, just wait till you see what this year's theme is or shall I say COLOR SCHEME IS, CAN YOU GUESS???

So this is the front of the house, well sorta, we have to come from the garage and walk around that front porch to the front door, they have never done this, none of us liked it. Notice the large front yard though, that's pretty big for the DREAM HOUSE. Ok ready to see the inside, please excuse the blurry, people in the background or anything else with these photos. When it's crowded we just have to keep the line moving, so I was clicking and walking for some of these, lol
dining room to the right of front door. had beautiful curtains with funky circles on them, can't remember what they were called but looked cool.
We went thru a small but pretty kitchen but was too crowded for pictures, it also had a little breakfast table to eat at. That led to this GREAT ROOM!! I did like it but way to small for all of us. See the door in the back that leads to the gorgeous deck in the next picture.
again sorry for the picture, do not know these people. Love that the deck had a shade spot and a sunny patio off of it, I would love to read out there.
The master bedroom right off the great room. Notice the colors on pillows, click on image to see better. Yep, we got YELLOW AND GRAY PEOPLE, LOOOOVE IT!!!
look at the bathroom wall, LOVE THIS!!
this is only half the closet, HUGE HUGE!!
Then we enter the basement, oh my goodness, FULL OF YUMMY!! Wait and see, but for now see that long bench and table and chairs, isn't that the sweetest. LOVE THAT.
here's the other side of the room. LOOK AT THAT YELLOW AND GRAY!! See Summer in the back left pointing to that little nook, GUESS WHAT THAT IS!!!
LOOOOOK AT SPACE, YOU KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS RIGHT. SCRAPBOOKING AND CRAFTS AND CUTENESS GOING ON. LOOK AT THE FLOOR, OH YEA BABY, GOTTA HAVE THAT AND THAT WALLPAPER IS HEAVEN, LETTERS/FONTS ON THE WHOLE WALL. SERIOUSLY COULD HAVE JUST SAT HERE AND DROOLED ALL DAY, PEOPLE WERE WAITING THOUGH, DANG IT. I'VE ALWAYS WANTED A TABLE TO STAND AT AND THIS WOULD BE GEAT AND ALL THOSE LITTLE CUBBIES FOR ME. CAN YOU BELIEVE THIS, MY COLORS AS IF THEY KNEW THE HOUSE WOULD BE FOR ME, HAHA
HERE'S THE TABLE AND BENCH, LOOK AT THAT CUTE BACK BOARD BEHIND THE BENCH. SO PRETTY AND FUN ISN'T IT. SO CRISP AND CLEAN, LOVE THIS. THE TABLE IS GORGEOUS ALSO. I'VE ALWAYS LIKED BIG WOODEN TABLES.
HERE'S A PICTURE LOOKING DOWN AT THE GREAT ROOM, LOVE THE RUG AND THE COLOR OF THE FLOOR IS GORGEOUS!!

Did you like all that yummy color and styles in the house??  The best part for me was only the basement, the rest just didn't do much for me. Sure, it's pretty and all that, but the basement was PERFECT!! The upstairs rooms really took a downslide this year, we weren't happy at all. Very small two overly dressed up girls rooms, NO BOY ROOM and then a RETREAT ROOM with a  huge massage table in the middle of the room. Two small closets and a bathroom and awkard angles, nope this was not our DREAM HOUSE after all. The basement ROCKED THOUGH!! Hoping to bring some of this style into my house, esp my scrap/family room.  We did go see a model home down the road from this one and OH MAN WAS IT AMAZING, the bedrooms were HUGE, the house was HUGE and the basement was blah!! none of us like it.  My dream house that really clicked with me was two years ago, wanted that house so bad, went there 12 times and still didn't win. Bonita you should see that pictures of that one, it was a beachy theme. So there you go ladies, some color inspiration for you to drool over. Please share what parts you LOVED and REALLY LOVED and if you didn't like it feel free to share that also, not everyone has to like it.

Thanks so much for all the lovely comments on the kids artwork. They were excited to read them!! I will still post Renee's soon. There probably won't be a PL post tomorrow, running behind due to our camping trip and other things. On Wednesday though I'm hoping to have a very SPECIAL TOTALLY NEW kinda post. Please come back to see it!!
Take care and see you soon. HUGS!!

  2. Such a big house, the porch & the large yard is awesome for entertaining, little parties maybe. Fabulous crafting nook & the CLOSET is just wow. Where is this, Dawn?. LOVE the wooden floors, I'm still saving for a dream house myself, I'm now living on a 3rd floor apartment, looking out to a beautiful little forest at the back :). You looked like you were having fun with the kids!!. Hugs.

    1. hello Shahrul,
the porch was awesome, have never had one and want one so badly. Isn't that crafting nook the best, could stay there all day. The girls love the closets, it's like a small room, could even craft in there.
I've wanted an apt. for years, taking care of the yard even at minimum is a lot of work. How wonderful that you have a little forest though, love that.
We did have fun, the kids love this every year. Thanks for coming by.

  3. Hi Dawn, thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving such a lovely comment. I love that little nook although it wouldn't be big enough, that wall paper is awesome.
I was in Tracey's craft room the other day and eye spied that lovely button Christmas tree plaque you made, I loved it when I first saw it months ago and it still catches my eye. I love buttons and the wording on the back is priceless.
Fingers xxxx that you win the draw and take the money.(then you could have a little flight to down under and join us for our next gathering)
    Xx
