PROJECT LIFE, YIPPPEEE AND FUN ART

Happy Project Life Tuesday!!!  So happy to have this week done on time, it took some effort but keeping it simple made it possible. Seems like the last few weeks my PL is getting harder to do get done on time and without stressing. I've been late ordering my pictures and having hard time choosing them. With all this happening it makes me that much happier when my week is DONE!! I'm liking the blues this week, looks pretty I think.
Before going in further have you seen Becky Higgins blog, OMG OMG you must go look RIGHT NOW!! SERIOUSLY GO LOOK THEN COME BACK AND LOOK AT MY PICTURES!!

SO DID YOU GO LOOK???? ARE YOU IN LOVE LIKE I AM......CAN NOT WAIT TILL NOVEMBER, I WANT TWO OF THEM...... LOVE LOVE IT ALL.....SOOOOO HAPPY!!
Ok now let's look at my close ups....
Here is the left side... I like that there's paper stuff this week. The big one is from our bowling last Monday, FUN TIME!! I finally remembered to ask for the copy of our scores. I wrote about the procedure I had done. I"M FEELING GREAT BY THE WAY!! Included my special art piece I made. The bottom is my collage for the 12 on the 12th day, it was all about the food we had made and eaten that day. The weather has been chilly lately so we made chili and corn/cob and cookies. Really looooving this cool wave we are having, so nice and easy to play outside in finally.
Some favorites on this side, THE SUNSET WAS STUNNING, LOVE THIS!! Sweet pictures of the kids and especially my Sienna girl. The bottom one is about Sam and his efforts at getting customers at his golf ball sale he was having. He made $20 but still wanted more customers so we put out cookies and juice to bribe them but it didn't work. Better luck next time Sam, sorry buddy!!

We are in the last home stretch before school next week. Sam's books/computer have arrived and are ready to go....I"m loving them and that he will be home with me and learning together. Summer's things come next week, hers is all on the computer NO BOOKS, this saddens us and we will hang in there though and hope for the best. WE LOVE BOOKS REMEMBER!!  Renee is almost ready, needs a few more things and hoping to get her schedule changed a bit. Her chorus class got dropped due to more cut backs,  THIS IS VERY SAD FOR US BOTH!!  Ok how about a little art now..
I've been inspired lately by a new blog and sweet lady Shahrul, she is always creating something pretty in her pages. I was inspired by her page done in black and decided to play around and this is the result... mind you I didn't want to copy her but took some of her ideas and twist it for me.
I started off putting down some white gesso then some PURPLE crumbled up tissue paper on it. Then came out the black watercolors and black acrylic paint. I let it set a bit then added black cut up netting, just quickly cut out not perfect and gessoed it down and added black/white smash tape ontop then a button. Using a white sharpie pen and white out pen made the circles and flowers around the page. She used a quote with the word NEVER in it so I did also and found the purple beauty sticker to add to it. It reminds me to look for the beauty even in our darkest moments, it's hard but you have to try. Now I got some close ups too!!
Look at that texture and the peeks of purple!!

I also liked the black netting, will use it again
and more purple to see, LOVE IT!
You can see Shahrul's page at http://suchprettycanvas.blogspot.com
thanks for inspiring me and making art fun!!
If you have time peek at my previous post also, I went to a crop and worked in my new summer journal inspired by BONITA!!  Take a look at what I did, so happy and it was fun!
Enjoy the week ladies and thanks for visiting. We will be enjoying our last week here and I might be a little MIA at times, busy busy with the kids while I can. HUGS!!

  1. Yay, your post is up early! I am loving all the blues you choose in your photos, they really are lovely. You matched them so perfectly with the cards too. Are you looking at Seafoam? I think it looks incredible. And, just when I told myself I would never need to buy another core kit again because I can use so much of my stash. And, I think we have a few more releases coming this week, yeow!

No books and no chorus? That is sad! Thanks for comment today. I had a pretty awful moment at Avi's first day of preschool today that pretty much wrecked my whole day. Why do I feel more insecure than him, like I am back in school again?? Anyway, reading your thoughtful and positive comment day really helped me. Thank you :)

  3. The Seafoam kit looks like fun!. The colors are just bright for any of your PL journal :). Wow, Dawn I must congratulate you on keeping up with PL, it is such a BIG undertaking ... almost too scary to start :). I don't think I'm able to commit to it. BRAVO!!. Reading Becky's post on her brother Jonathan really humbling, knowing how precious one's life is and how important family & friends love. And more so to keep a PL!.

Yes, I'm so proud of you!. You made the journal pages look like snow falling on a winter's night :). LOVE your 'never' quote :). Thanks for mentioning me here, it's certainly a pleasure to share my love of art with everyone and meeting new friends from afar. HUGS.

    1. I was so sorry to hear about her brother too, thanks for the reminder, meant to add that to my post!! I feel so bad for them, she is so wonderful and does such good things in her life and for others. Truly inspires me in all she does. It's heartbreaking to hear this news.

I know PL seems hard but it gets easier over time. Let me know when or if you want to take the leap and I will be right here helping you all the way. I was scared that first year also and this year has been MY FAVORITE YET!! This is my 4th year doing it.

Thanks for the comment on my black page, really going to do this again. I need to work with black and mixing watercolors and acrylics together.STill working on the white sharpies and white out pen also, it squeezes out too fast for me. I still love this page and am glad to hav edone it. HUGS!!
