SUMMER OF COLORS FIRST WEEK....more cards

Hello,  how are you? We are enjoying the first week of summer vacation, could use more sunshine and less rain though. Haven't been able to fully enjoy being outdoors or any water places yet. Doesn't look like we will anytime soon either. Thankfully Kristin over at http://twinkletwinklelikeastarblogspot.com/  is keeping us inspired with her Summer Of Color challenge this summer. For this first week the colors turquoise and citron green won most votes, aren't they pretty together. Since I've been on a roll with the card making thanks to the Let's Get Trendy Now workshop last week it seemed fitting to keep rolling with the card making. I do have the cards all finished for that class and will be sharing them later.
I have been playing all week with these colors and different mediums too. The picture above are the 3 cards I came up with. Using the tape like this was new for me, I like how they turned out and all the white space makes me happy. The bottom card was made from a stamp I've never used before, YAY! I like that this challenge is helping me use up supplies, thinking in a different way, making me think of colors all day and wanting to sketch, paint, scrap and do everything in this color.  I seriously thought to tell the kids we will cook all our foods for a day with these colors, is that crazy??!!

Thanks Kristin for the inspiration and the hard work you put into this challenge, I love it already and know it will make my summer more fun and creative. Can't wait to see what colors win next week, they all look YUMMY to me. Oh, and I was thinking last night it would be nice if all my supplies were organized by color, would make this challenge easier for me. I had to dig around for these things, my scrap space needs a serious clean-up. Some of my readers are already joining in the fun with me, can't wait to see what you've come up with. My friend Shahrul has hers posted now and you must go over and see the darling little book she made. Visit her at http://suchprettycanvas.blogspot.com and take a peek at it.

  4. Dawn Love all your cards. I can't pick any one as my favorite all are looking awesome , simple but very neat and clean. The thought of cooking in these colors is making me laugh:) The challenges are helping me too to go through my supplies. Even I wish the weather wouldn't be this cruel. First so much snow and cold and now storms and rains:(

  9. WOWW, these are stunning cards!!. I love washi tapes too, but most of the prettier ones can be expensive here :). Hey, why not making tiny cards with washi tapes for your PL inserts??. And, maybe make SOC cupcakes??. A treat to warm some hearts when it rains so much :). Thank you for mentioning me here, I'm all the rage with making tiny books now :).
