  1. What a fun and unique way to welcome each month. And I like your commitment to the month, too. Unlike your almost poetic welcome to each month, I start mine with a very boring calendar page.

I had never heard of Project Life until I first saw it on your blog. Now I see it all over the internet, especially when I visit my "desker" friends at WOYWW (on Wednesdays). Seems there are a lot of you "Project Lifers" out there, and certainly not just in the States. So thanks for introducing me to this concept, even though scrapbooking is not something in my wheelhouse.

To answer your question about ICAD size, I prefer to work in a larger format, but I found this size was NOT offensive. What I'm NOT crazy about are the inchies. They are way too small for my taste.

I considered a recipe box when I decided on my container. I have several I've picked up at garage sales for the sole purpose of altering them. However, even though I rejected adding 3-D embellishments to the cards, preferring to keep the cards relatively flat, several of my ICADs' embellishments extended beyond the 5" width. Height would not have been a problem because I could have left the lid open, but width obviously WAS.

I look forward to seeing your ICADs. I bet they are as fun as you PL entries. And I want to see your wildflower sketches, another thing I'm no good at. And of course, I adore what you did to welcome the month. Now I want some sweet corn and a fresh pumpkin pie, too!

  2. Hi Elizabeth, Thanks so much for your visit and happy you enjoyed it. I love doing these hello posts that were inspired by a dear blog friend. I LOVE your calendar pages and might just start those too.
Project Life just got HUGE this year, Becky has outdone herself and no one can hide from it now. I have done these since day one and fall more in love with it each day, each year!Glad you enjoy seeing them, especially since that's what's mostly on my blog.
Thanks for the answer to my question. I like the small size too. The box you made is fun, so it's good that you did it. I think most of mine are flat, will have to check again. Will try to get pictures and post them next week.
My sketches too, they are pretty light with pencil but will give it a try. I need lots more practice with them.
Isn't corn/cob the best, we eat it almost daily once it's ready. Have never made pumpkin pie though, just like them for cuteness and decoration. I do love pumpkin pie and buy some each Thanksgiving.
Thanks again and see you at Mandala Monday!

  3. I try to buy a pumpkin or two each year around Halloween that I decorate, or use to decorate around my porch. I have had cantaloup for the past three years, but didn't even plant that this year. I know how much room they take up and my garden is quite small relative to most veggie and herb gardens. It's about 4' wide X 10' long, and that includes the area under the tree where I keep a compost container because nothing grows in that shady spot.

I make sure it doesn't freeze before Halloween, or I bring my pumpkin in. After Halloween, I cut into it, remove the pumpkin, save and roast the seeds, and make at least one pumpkin pie. I've also made pumpkin rolls, but that is quite a chore. I only do that when I have company coming, or I'm going to a party. I'd much rather make pie, since I'm making it just for me. After all, I don't share this with Bleubeard (grin).

Several of my ICADs are about 5 1/2 inches long, so that's why I can't use a recipe box. They simply don't fit. But thanks for liking my box. I am not especially fond of it at the moment, but hopefully I'll have time in the future to embellish it.
